Vetotherm Ultra is a polymer-modified deformable cementitious adhesive specially designed for permanent fixing of thermal insulation boards to a wide range of substrates, including concrete and masonry. Vetotherm Ultra is also designed for use as a protective mortar that provides a durable layer for insulation boards suitable for several decorative finishes.

All surfaces must be clean and free from oil, grease, or loose materials. The insulation board has to be firmly fixed using Vetotherm adhesives and anchors. Fille the large gaps between insulation boards with insulation boards’ strips to leave minimal gaps or filled with PU foam of similar U-Value to the insulation boards. All edges of the building need to be protected by PVC Vetotherm accessories unless otherwise specified.
Apply Vetotherm Ultra directly on concrete, cement plaster, and masonry. In very porous substrates, spray water onto the surface before the application.
Ensure to use a mechanically powered mixer or heavy-duty drill fitted with a suitable paddle for proper mixing. Add 9 - 9.75 liters of clean water (for each 25 kg bag) to a clean container. Add the powder slowly to the water while mixing continuously with a low-speed mixer/ heavy-duty drill (400 - 600 rpm) fitted with a suitable mixing paddle.
Continue mixing for 3 minutes until obtaining a uniform consistency.
As an Adhesive:
Apply the mortar in a strip around the insulation board with a few spots in the middle. In a smooth or plastered substrate, employ a back buttering technique and use a notched trowel to spread the mortar on the insulation board’s back.
As a Base Coat and Protective Layer:
Apply the mortar over the fixed thermal insulation panels. Using an aluminum roll, embed the precut reinforcing mesh onto the freshly applied mortar until its fully immersed in the Vetotherm Ultra layer.
Smoothen the surface with a long flat trowel. Where needed, apply more than one Vetotherm Ultra layer, use a double or triple reinforcement mesh.
Note: Mesh strips have to be overlapped by approximately 10 cm.
Clean all tools immediately after finishing with water. Clean Hardened materials mechanically.
